Ice-Tee Tournament - Pocono Mountains
Ice-Tee Tournament Keeps Golf Fever Alive in Pocono Mountains
Winter snow may have had a strong grip on the Northeast, but golf was still very much in the air as The Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau hosted the Annual Ice-Tee Golf Tournament in February. Participants in the tournament teed it up for nine holes of golf atop frozen Lake Wallenpaupack with prizes, giveaways and the popular "Closest to Wally" driving contest.
"This annual event is always a hit with golfers and non-golfers, alike," said Carl Wilgus, President and CEO of the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau. "Even when their favorite Pocono Mountains courses are under a layer of snow, golfers are extremely passionate about the sport. It was a dedicated group that came out and challenged Mother Nature for a round on frozen Lake Wallenpaupack."
